Architecture Seminar Field Trip 1 - Space Group Office!
So Marcus, my architecture professor here at Sogang, takes the class out on Wednesday to different cool sites in the city so we can talk about (of course) the architecture (discuss design, functionality, success of the structure, etc.), sketch some stuff in our field journals, and maybe grab some snack-age.
This is the first spot he took us to which is the office space of a firm founded by the late Korean architect Kim Swoo Geun. Kim Swoo Geun was a huge player in Korea during his time and his influence is still pretty prominent here in Korea. These are just a few pics of the Space Group building which if you ever get a chance to come check out in person - you totally should. Though be sure to make an appointment in advanced!
Also if you’re really into cool building and art culture, Space Group puts out a regular magazine that tells you all the happening places in and around Seoul as well as what’s new and going on in the different entertainment sectors. I haven’t found a copy myself yet, but I’m on the lookout.
